From the
swift arrows of the slender banshee,
From the envious heart and the
eye of evil,
May the herd be encircled!

Without
animals...at least for those of us who love them, life would
be pretty boring...maybe your house might be cleaner, your clothes
less decorated, but having a little face (or many in our case)
waiting at the door for your return, makes it all worth while.
Talisman Farm is
located in Central NH and is occupied by critters of the canine and
wooly variety, with a small flock of registered Shetland Sheep and
herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We raise and live with our
working lines, old style Australian Shepherds and pretty but
efficient Border
Collies in our home-they are not kennel dogs, so we know each dogs
behavior thoroughly.
Our pack can work or run like the wind in performance and play,
but will not see the inside of a show ring, anytime soon.
Pretty is,
as pretty does here at Talisman Farm-Form Follows Function.
Our dogs live, work & play as a group, with their daily aerobic
exercise and training, an important part of the daily schedule. All
of our dogs have "hobbies" or "jobs" with agility, working
stock & flyball my favorites,
and theirs too. We try to limit how many dogs we have, so that each
gets one on one and also leaves room for rescue fosters.

Our dogs are fed
a
holistic, grain-free, natural diet that combines raw meat, veggies
and bones. We believe in Dr Dodds protocol of
minimal vaccines, after core
vaccines given as puppies. Our humble, little farm tries to limit its
carbon
footprint, as we live as green-friendly of a life as possible. Our
blog chronicles some of the adventures and misadventures of our
critters, just click on the Moose.
