Welcome to Talisman Farm!
 Growing up "in dogs", so to speak, I competed in the show ring with the dogs my Mom bred
and trained my mixed breed in obedience. Later, my love of animals influenced me to give
up a lucrative career in fashion/advertising, to work for a national animal welfare organization in NYC.

As a pet behavior counselor/trainer I worked with shelter animals and also taught classes. I continued
behavior work & classes in Brooklyn, which led to creating  "Dogmatics Positive Training" and AussomeDawgs Rescue.

After moving to New Jersey I continued teaching with more focus on agility at St Huberts Giralda
Animal Welfare. Now in New Hampshire, I am enjoying training and competing with my dogs,
meeting some great new friends and getting to know the area.
 Now my life has truly "gone to the dogs"!



Long before agility became such a popular dog sport and my own personal obsession-I knew I wanted
a dog that I could work with in a variety of performance events!  I enjoy the process of training because of
the bond it creates with each of my dogs, more so than competing and bringing home ribbons...although that is nice too!! I have not been able to compete as much the last few years, but am getting the next generation ready... to hit the ground running with soon!
Aussies &  Border Collies are the breeds I will always have because of their versatility, intelligence and
natural beauty. They are similar but different. Both breeds have their own special qualities.

We are proud to be an ASCA registered kennel name and to be a member of ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America), ABCA (American Border Collie Association), & ASCNE (Australian Shepherd Club of New England).  
Talisman Farm is a small hobby farm with some sheep, some goats and of course Dogs!! We are located in central New Hampshire on 12+ beautiful acres of land, surrounded by woods. Our dogs are part of our family and live exclusively in our home. They all run together and live together as a small "pack" that gets along well. We are definitely "dog nuts" as they are the focus of much of what we do, but try to limit how many dogs we have, in order to spend "quality time" with all and to have space to foster rescues.  We try to live as "green" friendly of a life as possible, which includes raising our dogs with a holistic approach on a natural & homemade diet and with limited vaccines.

This site is dedicated to my mother whose strong influence instilled my love and respect for all creatures. And, to my father, who has always been the voice of reason & has provided much support for all of my endeavors.
